Thank you for considering to coach for AYSO!
Why should you become an AYSO Coach? We need you. The players can’t play without coaches, they can’t practice and they can’t develop. More importantly, it's rewarding and working with kids is great fun!
AYSO is a 100% volunteer-led organization. Every coach, referee, board member – everyone you encounter through AYSO – is a volunteer and we are always looking for more people to help the kids play soccer and to help ensure a positive experience for everyone.
In order to coach, there are three initial steps you need to follow and complete to get started. Even if you’re new to coaching or new to soccer, we can help you get up to speed and feel comfortable before you lead a team.
AYSO has developed training to help our volunteers to quickly gain the age-appropriate knowledge and skills they need to become outstanding coaches. To become an AYSO coach, you must be certified in the age level you will be coaching. Certification takes three easy steps.
-
Step 1: Register as a volunteer and let us know you’d like to coach!
-
Step 2: Complete your background check and ‘Safe Haven’ volunteer courses.
-
Step 3: Take your age-specific coach training course.
Our Fall season is starting soon and many of our age divisions are still looking for many volunteers to help as both head and assistant coaches. If you have any questions or don’t know where to start, please contact the Program Manager for the age division you’re interested in coaching. Contact information is listed in our Regional Contacts tab on this website.
Thank you again for volunteering with AYSO Region 84!
